Go crazy in a Ferrari around Paris
Ferrari GT Evolution: Lite Version is an iPhone racing game that puts you at the wheel of a supercar.
Let's face it - you're never going to get to drive a Ferrari around the streets of Paris. So, probably the best thing for you is to install Ferrari GT Evolution: Lite Version and tick that off your list of childhood dreams fulfilled.
Ferrari GT Evolution: Lite Version is a fast-paced racing sim, set in the French capital. It's visually stunning, with realistic 3D graphics, slick animation and detailed recreations of the Paris streets and some of its World famous sites, such as the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
The options in Ferrari GT Evolution: Lite Version are pretty limited. You only get to race around one fairly short section of track, there's only one car to choose from (albeit with a choice of four colors), and only the Quick Race mode is available.
Control options
Thankfully, the diverse control options from the full game are all included in Ferrari GT Evolution: Lite Version. You can control the steering using the accelerometer, via screen taps, or using an on-screen steering wheel. Acceleration can be set to automatic, or you can opt to use the gas pedal on the display.
Racing around in Ferrari GT Evolution: Lite Version is great fun and you really get a good impression of speed. The only factors that spoiled my enjoyment a bit were the annoying, repetitive soundtrack, and the fact that the game is a bit too easy (there are only three other competitors).
Despite its limitations, there's enough fun to be had in Ferrari GT Evolution: Lite Version to keep you going until that lottery win lets you do it for real.
